LITERARY SCENE

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
You ravaged your place of origin
And spread your venom to every corner of the globe.
Your treacherous designs have engulfed the world in grief!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
You humbled even the mightiest
Taking the death toll to unimaginable high
Leaving no sigh of relief!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
You showed no mercy to
The lofty in palace or parliament
Giving the sufferings in full measure!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
You axed at the root of the economies!
Tied legs, stalled trade and business
Leaving trillions sans a livelihood!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
You marred dates, rituals and nuptials
Making hearts to bleed in separation
Pushing everyone into agony and anxiety!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
You hit hard our young ones
Clipping their wings, so they can’t fly and flutter
And connect to their beloved!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
Your dreadful ways have quarantined us
Draining our scarce resources
And throwing us to the verge of naught!

Oh! Corona! You’re so cruel!
But your evil ways won’t work for long.
For we have seen the worst of evils
And won over with our heads, hearts and might!
